* Delivery
Schedule: Shipping of 2001 Edition updates (for
filing returns for tax year 2000 and tax planning for later years) starts
in mid-January 20001 in the order that paid orders are received
(Firts-In/First-Out). Pre-release disk is
shipped 2 to 3 weeks earlier for filing returns that don't require
the few forms not yet released. The pre-release includes no manuals, no IRS
reference files, and no e-file, irrespective of the level of update
ordered. Paper Tax Forms Guides are shipped 2 to 3 weeks
later and are purchased separately from the software. (Electronic
versions of the Tax Forms Guides are delivered with all Windows 2000/98/95
versions when the software is released. These versions are delivered in PDF
format, and can be viewed on-screen and printed on virtually any printer
using Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, which is included on CD-ROM versions
of our software or available free from Adobe at
www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html. Our CD-ROM versions also
include an updated copy of our User's Guide in PDF format.)
What's Included:
Economy Updates include only non-graphic
printing (our traditional IRS-accepted facsimile printouts) and fill-in.
Standard Updates include Graphic Printing
for main signature forms only. See "Graphic Printing" below.
Premium Updates include Graphic Printing
for ALL official forms. See "Graphic Printing" below.
CD-ROM versions of both Standard and Premium
Updates include supplemental IRS files (the official forms and instructions
for selected IRS forms plus selected IRS publications that relate to those
forms) and our User's Guide - both in PDF format. These files can be viewed
and printed using the included free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader.
**Graphic
Printing: Graphic Printing for Windows
2000/98/95 versions requires only a Windows-compatible
printer. However, the printer Printing must be capable of printing with margins
as narrow as ½ inch margins for complete printouts of some forms.
Graphing Printing for DOS and Windows 3.1
versions requires a printer that emulates the HP LaserJet
Plus printer as well as a compatible tax font. These requirements are the
same as our former Laser Options.
***e-file: All e-file versions require Windows 2000/98/95, 16MB of RAM, and a 14.4kbps or higher modem. Professional e-file adds to your Tax Preparer software the ability to transmit an unlimited number of returns. There is a $5 per return transmission fee for our Standard Professional version (1.95 for Calif. state version) and NO transmission fee for our High-volume Professional version (with which you can transmit direct to the IRS or through a 3rd party). To use professional e-file you must first have a valid EFIN issued by the IRS via Form 8633. Call for details.
Supplemental IRS files: CD-ROM versions of Standard and Premium Updates include supplemental IRS files in PDF format. These files can be viewed and printed using Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, and include the official forms and instructions for selected IRS forms plus selected IRS publications that relate to those forms.
Manuals: Paper manuals are shipped 2 to 3 weeks later than the program, and are purchased separately from the software. (Electronic versions of the manuals are delivered with all Windows 95/98/2000 versions when the software is released.)
****Laser Librarian: Laser Librarian is a CD-ROM that includes ALL federal and state income tax forms (including on-screen fill-in and Graphic Printing) plus ALL IRS publications, with mid-season updates. It also includes a client organizer with label and envelope printing. It's a great way to prepare state returns and seldom used federal forms! Requires Windows 95 or later and a quality Windows-compatible laser or ink-jet printer.
